David Daser - Moderator, ICT/Fintech

David Daser is a renowned technology strategist, digital policy advocate, and entrepreneur with a Biochemistry degree from the University of Jos. Over the years, he has consulted for major national institutions, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Air Force, designing and deploying critical IT solutions.

As the founding Director General of PICTDA, he launched transformative initiatives such as Code Plateau and the Silicon Plateau Project, promoting digital governance and equipping young people with future-ready skills. He also served on the Presidential Advisory Council on Technology and Creativity, contributing to national tech policy under Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on August 20, 2024, Daser now leads the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), where he champions excellence in ICT and telecoms training. He currently serves as Chairman of the National Digital Literacy Technical Working Group (NDL-TWG), spearheading the federal government’s ambitious drive toward 95% digital literacy by 2030.

A dyed-in-the-wool believer in youth empowerment through digital literacy and innovation, Daser remains committed to building a digitally inclusive Nigeria.

Hon. Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi - Moderator, Education

Hon. Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi is a distinguished academic, engineer, and legislator currently representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives. He is the current Chairman of Nigeria Irish Legislative friendship committee and the Deputy Chairman of the newly formed South East Development Commission. He serves on key committees including Finance, Health institutions, and University Education, where he contributes to critical national discourse and policy development.

An internationally acclaimed scholar, Prof. Nnamchi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from ESUT, and advanced degrees from TU Delft (Netherlands) and The University of Sheffield (UK). where he was awarded the CORUS-TaTa prize for the best dissertation. Paul has held many scholarly appointments at Netherlands Institute for Metals research (NIMR) and Max-Planck-Institute für Eisenforschung GmbH, Dusseldorf, Germany. He has held postdoctoral fellowships in Northumbria University, UK with ground-breaking work in biomedical implants, material physics, and green technology.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (UK), a Chartered Scientist and Chartered Engineer, United Kingdom, and a member of global professional bodies including NACE, IOP, and Materials Research Society. He is also a COREN-registered engineer in Nigeria.

Prof. Nnamchi has received multiple international research grants, including the Royal Academy of Engineering’s HEPSSA Award, the State of Michigan’s Water Access Equity Grant, and the EU-AU LEAP-RE Grant on renewable energy. He served as the Director of the Royal Academy of Engineering Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Rural Development, an organisation that fosters the development of young people by organising green technology competitions that emphasise sustainable agriculture, waste-to-energy, and rural innovation. He was able to identify the next generation of Nigerians who would lead the green technological revolution for rural sustainable development and to establish a capacity-building platform for the country’s vast youth in this innovative sector as a result of his position. Paul coordinates a regional competition that examines the design and implementation of green technologies for rural sustainable development. The competition concentrates on sustainable agriculture, waste-to-energy, renewable energy, and green materials.

Prof. Nnamchi, was previously the pioneer Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UNN, has served as a visiting professor at numerous Nigerian universities and continues to shape academic and scientific discourse through editorial roles and committee work in national and international journals and institutions.

Dr. Jane Osaretin Ifechukwu - Moderator, Health Care

Dr. Jane Osaretin Ifechukwu MBBS, FWACS. Chief Consultant Ophthalmologist is a graduate of the University of Benin, Nigeria and Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (Faculty of Ophthalmology). She has over 25 years of experience in both clinical practice and hospital administration. As a former Chairman of Clinical Services, she has valuable insight into healthcare delivery and teamwork. She is currently the Head of Ophthalmology Department State House Medical Center.

Dr. Emeka Flemin Okengwu - Moderator, Manufacturing

 

Dr. Emeka Flemin Okengwu is a seasoned public speaker, TV commentator, and policy analyst.Dr.

He holds a PhD in Development Economics, with additional degrees in Political Science and Entrepreneurship. He is currently the Executive Director of Biosources and Technologies Limited, leading a public-private partnership focused on bioethanol development from cassava.

A leading figure in the development of a bioethanol value by utilising cassava, Dr Okengwu aligns his expertise in development economics and agricultural transformation for the benefit of the agro-processibg industry in Nigeria.

Dr Okengwu served for several years as a member of the Strategic Committee for National Agricultural Transformation Plan (NATIP).

He also has expertise and extensive involvement in the mining sector, including carrying out a scoping study on the Nigerian Mining Sector (CIDA, 2012), an membership of the working group for the review of fiscal and legal frameworks for the solid minerals sector. He has presented papers and served as a resource person at various high-level expert meetings like the World Bank’s International Conference on Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources (2006).

Dr Okengwu has delivered papers on the role of Mining in Sustainable Economic Development at the Enlarged National Economic Council (NEC) Retreat (2016) and various international mining conferences.

In the area of manufacturing and Industrial development, he has contributed to manufacturing initiatives, notably as a Resource Person/Consultant for the Ministerial Committee to Develop the Proof of Concept and Outline Business Case for Methanol Fuel Technology (2021). His involvement in national development plans (e.g., National Technical Working Group for 30 Years National Infrastructure Master Plan) has been an asset to Nigeria’s broader industrial growth plans.

He is passionate about developing innovative strategies for leveraging diaspora assets for Nigeria’s sustainable development.

Festus Adebayo, Esq - Moderator, Real Estate

 

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), an annual advocacy and exhibition platform in the Africa housing and construction industry. Also, founder of the Housing Development Advocacy Network and first licenced housing tv in Nigeria. He is a member of the Federal Government Committee on the National Housing data.

Adebayo is an honorary fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, among others.

Nick Agule - Moderator, Energy

Nick Agule has in the past 7 years and counting participated at various conferences and summits as a facilitator, moderator, panelist or discussant in areas of energy, economy, politics, education and other areas of interest. He is a constant analyst on prime television and radio stations such as Arise TV, Channels TV, AIT, TVC News, Nigeria Info Lagos and a host of others. Some of Nick’s public outings can be found at www.nickagule.org. Nick Agule qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds an MBA and second-class upper honours degree in Accounting both from the University of Benin in 1995 and 1989 respectively. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Theology from St Mary’s University London in 2015. He is a versatile Information Technology expert and a Certified Solution Consultant on SAP Business Intelligence Solutions from the SAP Academy in the United Kingdom.

He has also attended several operational, technical and management development programmes all through his career. Nick Agule started his professional career at his alma mater the University of Benin where he specialised in teaching and research in Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting and Financial Management. He left the university to join the oil and gas industry working for 3 of the top 4 global oil companies – Chevron, Shell and BP at their global headquarters in London.

After leaving in BP in 2015, he setup and managed a consultancy firm – Dominus Consulting Ltd – with offices in London and Abuja. In 2016 he was headhunted to return to Nigeria to help setup the Asset Management Team of the OML 42 NNPC/Neconde JV which was a joint operatorship model initiated by the Hon Minister of State Petroleum Resources to revive oil fields with government interests that were moribund. The project was successfully completed in 2018 and the oil fields are back into production till date.

Nick is also active in community service giving back to the society his time, talent and resources to change the lives of the less privileged and heads the governing board of the Word in Action Foundation a charity registered in Nigeria (www.twiaf.org). He also promotes social enterprises in Nigeria including modern day public transportation with Victoria Travels (www.victoriatravels.com.ng) and crowdfunding for charity projects with Citizens Charity (www.citizenscharity.org)

Highlights of Nick’s professional achievements include several students he supervised their project work and mentored are now professors in various universities within and outside Nigeria. He was part of Shell’s SAP global implementation team in Kuala Lumpur and Houston which built and delivered Shell’s 1st global SAP template for the upstream business. He also setup and managed the 1st JV Accounting and Reporting team in Shell Nigeria running on the SAP technology. In BP he was a founding member of the SAP global template for downstream and upstream businesses.

He also planned and managed the delivery of a global portfolio of audits including risk, governance, assurance and SOX compliance reviews across Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East and Asia.

He has presented technical and professional papers at corporate, national and international events. He well sought after for TV interviews on public affairs and writes a regular column in online newspapers online and in print.

Dr Mrs Moji Davids loves to be reffered to as a “Farmer”, though a trained accountant but has  been in the agricultural sector in the past 15 years after sojourning outside the country  for a number of years, returned to Nigeria  with her husband Farmer Seyi Davids to establish their farms.
