NDIS Past Events & Milestones
From the inaugural summit in 2018 to a major international investment platform in 2025, explore the journey of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit.
The Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) is an annual investment platform established in 2018 to connect Nigerians living abroad with investment opportunities, businesses, entrepreneurs, and government institutions in Nigeria.
Organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in collaboration with the Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative (NDSI), the summit has held eight editions between 2018 and 2025. Its central objective is to mobilise diaspora capital, expertise, international business networks, and technology to support Nigeria's economic development.

Major Outcomes & Impact
Investment Facilitation
NDIS has helped connect Nigerian entrepreneurs with diaspora investors. In 2024, organisers reported 56 investment deals valued at approximately ₦673 million. These represent reported deals, not necessarily fully disbursed investment.
Entrepreneurship & SME Support
The summits provide opportunities for startups and small businesses to pitch ideas, receive feedback, and establish relationships with potential investors.
State-Level Investment
States including Ondo, Nasarawa, and Borno have participated in efforts to attract diaspora investment into local economic projects.
International Partnerships
NDIS facilitates networking among Nigerians abroad, government agencies, financial institutions, development partners, and domestic businesses.
Sector Diversification
Investment discussions have expanded across agriculture, healthcare, education, technology, real estate, manufacturing, energy, and creative industries.
Regional Development
The 2025 summit placed greater emphasis on directing diaspora investment into regional economic development and investment-ready businesses.
From Investment Dialogue to Development Impact
Between 2018 and 2025, NDIS evolved from an inaugural investment conference into an established annual platform for diaspora engagement, business matchmaking, and investment promotion.
This progression reflects a shift from general investment awareness towards practical business pitching, sector-specific partnerships, state-level opportunities, and regional development.
A comprehensive assessment of its economic impact, however, requires independently verified figures for investment funds actually disbursed, businesses financed, projects completed, and jobs created across all eight editions.
Building connections. Mobilising capital. Advancing Nigeria's development.
